The first Seiko "Alpinist" saw the light of day in 1961. In 2020, for the first time, the Alpinist models join the Prospex collection with the characteristic X at 6 o'clock on the dial. These watches are recognisable mainly by their inner bezel featuring a compass and by the shape of their hands. This automatic watch is water-resistant to 20 bar, has anti-reflective sapphire glass crystal and a transparent case back.
