With a redesigned and improved patented depth gauge system and some additional features that improve a wearer’s overall dive watch experience, the second generation of the Oris Aquis Depth Gauge will appeal more now to the dive watch collecting community than ever before. The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch is a bona fide dive tool with improved and refined graining of its depth gauge channel. This enables the watermark to be referenced easier against its vibrant yellow scale around the edge of the dial. The inlet at 12 o’clock on the watch’s thick sapphire crystal glass lens enables water to enter it as water pressure naturally causes the air inside it to be compressed during a dive. Whilst water is filled around this in built channel, the movement remains protected from water damage. In addition to this improved depth reading technology, the Oris Aquis watch is also equipped with a rugged 500 meter water resistant multi piece stainless steel case, as well as a screw down crown and a screw down caseback. The back of the case also features a metres to feet conversion chart that is now aligned at a 90 degree angle to the 12 o’clock position.

To power the lume coated hands around the black dial of this men’s 45.8mm Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch, the Swiss brand chooses the reliable Oris 733 self winding movement with a 38 hour running time and an efficiency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The watch is also finished on a supple black rubber strap embossed with the famous Oris lettering and secures with a stainless steel folding clasp and a diver’s extension facility. To further the efficiency and versatility of the Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch, it is now equipped with Oris’ patented Quick Strap Change system. As a result, the diver can switch from the rubber strap to a more sophisticated stainless steel bracelet option by night with a quick strap changeover requiring no need for tools.
