During World War II, while other watchmakers switched to inferior materials and sacrificed quality for the sake of cost, Jaeger LeCoultre refused to compromise, continuing to deliver very fine wristwatches. As a result, their War era wristwatches meet the same high standards of finishing as many of their pre- and post war vintage watches.
While many similar style watches were fitted with chrome plated tops, this watch's case is all stainless steel.
It features an uncommon 24-hour two-tone dial, done in a military style with large luminous Arabic markers and original beautifully patinated luminous diamond hands.
As a mens midsize, it is well suited for someone with smaller wrists.
It is in pleasing and honest condition with all original parts down to all hands and the winding crown. Its case is in better than excellent condition and does not appear to have ever been polished.
Its dial may be a nice early vintage restoration. Its fine handwound caliber P450/2A Jaeger-LeCoultre movement is keeping very accurate time.
Our watchmaker has just freshly cleaned and oiled it. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a NATO strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Whether your battlefield is an important piece of ground or a business boardroom, this classic Jaeger-Lecoultre is sure to be enjoyed on the wrist.
